Our First Place

Since our apartment is the cleanest it's been in a long time, I figured it was a great time to make a blog post, full of pictures, of our first place. It isn't anything amazing, but Ken and I both love it and call it our home. Hopefully one day I will get the hang the whole decorating thing and make it a little cuter with beautiful things hanging from the walls. We live in a one bedroom, one bathroom apartment literally walking distance from campus. We live right by the freeway, so that is a downside to it but after a few months of the roaring cars you get used to it.

As you can see this is our living room, we had to furnish the place, like a lot of married housing in the cedar area. Our beautiful red couch and grandma and grandpa chairs came from Ken's room and since we are poor college students.... well i guess only one of us is a student but that's just a small technicality. But anyways, we are dealing with the furniture we have until we are no longer poor, and students haha.

Ken does most of the cooking in the kitchen because he is a much better cook than i am. It's small but we enjoy it. Some of the best creations are built in this here kitchen.

You'd think after 3+ months of living here we would have all our stuff unpacked and all the boxes gone... well I guess not.

Our bedroom is a decent size, big enough to fit our queen sized bed and all the other junk we have. I like that we have two separate closet areas so Ken and I can separate our stuff, however I do wish they had some kind of cover or door. When we bought our bed and bed frame, I didn't  think it would be so tall, I literally have to jump to get onto the bed. And if I fall off of it that would not be a good thing either... since I haven't done that before....

The bathroom only has the toilet and shower in it, so the sink/vanity is in our room, like shown above. I love and hate this feature. I hate that our bathroom is so small and that it doesn't include a tub. I also hate the fact that the bathroom is in our room, so if guests are over(because we have so many) and want to use the bathroom, they have to go into our room to take care of some business. I do love that if Ken is in the bathroom doing whatever he does in there I can still get ready for the day and us the sink/vanity area.

  1. Looks like you are making a fun home!!! Being poor and having hand me down furniture is part of being newlyweds. We have all been there. Cute place! :)
